Main piano theme by Rauf Kasimov
Background sound textures were created using the BeatCutter app on iPad with external sound card Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. BeatCutter can use up to four input channels to fill the matrix of samples and construct abstract rhythmic structures from fragments of the original sound.
The rhythm was created by the vintage drum machine Hammond Auto-Vari 64 and then processed with the SoundSaw app to give it an aesthetic of noise and lofi. Rhythm was the first sound source for the BeatCutter and controlled the change in sound textures. The other three sound sources were old training audio cassettes, music CDs, and pre-recorded synth sequences.
As a result, BeatCutter created chaotic yet rhythmically consistent sound textures using different fragments of the source material.
The piano track was played using the iGrand Piano app and processed by the Classic FX app when mixed.
